Christmas, Cookies and Milk!

Christmas time is always filled with delicious food and goodies!  I love all the cookies and treats but I can’t stand baking them.  Today I spent a few hours baking for my mom because she couldn’t after having surgery on her hand!  While I enjoy all the goodies the process is less than to be desired! Christmas, A Season of Hope!

Christmas time is hard for a lot of people.  The memories that I love and cherish around Christmas time are not the same as yours.  For some people Christmas reminds them of the death of a loved one, for others it brings repressed childhood memories.  Christmas for some can be dark, sad and painful…but it doesn’t have to be!  Christmas can be all that you want it to be and more, if you hold on to hope! Christmas, It’s Personal!

Christmas is more than family traditions it’s personal!  We have heard the Christmas story so many times but we don’t do anything about it.  God comes so close to us at Christmas but we refuse to receive the Savior, we sleep through it every year and refuse to do anything about it!  Jesus didn’t stay a baby, He grew up and lived a perfect life, then died for your sins and rose again so that we could have eternal life!

Christmas, What’s the Point!

I think the hardest part for kids to understand about Christmas is the point.  We tell them about Jesus and Santa and Jack Frost and Rudolph and kids just lose the point!  In the mix of this crazy season of fun, family and friends we lose something.  Christmas is more than Jesus and Santa, it’s more than all of that, it’s about giving.  You can tell a child the story of Jesus a hundred times or enjoy the story of Santa but if we don’t get that giving is the point, that giving is the reason of the season then what’s the point.

Christmas, A Time To Reflect!

My favorite part thing about Christmas is that it is a time to reflect over the past year.  We can look back on our life and think about all that we did, didn’t, and want to do!  It’s the perfect time to get a little insight and perspective on our life.  Christmas is a celebration, not just because Jesus was born, but because He died, Rose Again, and is returning!  Jesus birth was just the beginning, that’s the gift, but His return is the end!  As you look back over the last year think about these questions:
